DadLife: The Work

Fatherhood doesn’t come with a roadmap.

The Work is a six-week cohort experience for fathers who want to dig deep to understand themselves as fathers, learn practical, real-life ways to build strong dad-habits, and be the best version of themselves they can be.

The Start opens the door…..

The Work helps you stay with it.

The Start gives you a first look at what it means to be intentional about your experience as a father.

Not your children’s experience.

Yours.

But your intentional fatherhood development. DadLife: The Work gives fathers time, structure, and support to keep going.

This is where the ideas become more personal. More practical. More connected to real life.

Over six, 90-minute online sessions, fathers work with the patterns, pressures, relationships, and responsibilities that shape everyday family life not as theory, not as performance, and not as another pile of advice nobody asked for.

The Work also includes completion of a DadLife: Fire Profile and a private 1:1 debrief, with a DadLife program leader to explore strengths and opportunities regarding your development as a dad - from the early days through the later years with adult children.

The goal of the Work is simple - to become more aware, more steady, more intentional and more equipped in the places that matter most.

  • The Start introduces the core idea that fatherhood is something men can grow into intentionally.

    The Work gives fathers more space to apply that idea.

    Across six sessions, fathers revisit the themes introduced in The Start and begin working with them more directly: stress, communication, identity, relationships, emotional presence, conflict, repair, accountability, and everyday family rhythms.

    The added DadLife: Fire Profile helps make the process more personal. Instead of staying general, fathers get a clearer picture of how these themes show up in their own life.

    The Start helps you notice what matters.
    The Work helps you stay with it long enough for it to start changing how you show up.

  • DadLife: The Work is for fathers who:

    • have completed or explored DadLife: The Start;

    • want more than a one-time session;

    • value honest reflection and practical growth;

    • want stronger relationships at home;

    • are willing to participate in a cohort setting;

    • want personalized insight through the DadLife: Fire Profile;

    • want to better understand how they show up under pressure;

    • are ready to apply what they are learning between sessions.

    You do not need to have everything figured out.

    You do need to be willing to engage.

  • The Work focuses on the everyday patterns that shape fatherhood and family life.

    Fathers explore:

    • how stress affects communication and connection;

    • how family-of-origin patterns still show up;

    • how identity shapes the way men parent, partner, and relate;

    • how trust and emotional safety are built over time;

    • how conflict and repair work in real life;

    • how to become more steady under pressure;

    • how small repeated choices become family culture.

    The DadLife: Fire Profile helps participants connect these themes to their own patterns, strengths, pressure points, and growth areas.

    This is practical developmental work.

    Not theory for theory’s sake.

  • DadLife: The Work is built around a cohort model.

    That means small groups of 8-10 fathers move through each of the the six sessions with the same small group of dads.

    The cohort format matters because growth often works better when it is not isolated. Fathers hear from other men, reflect on their own patterns, and begin to recognize that many of the questions they carry are not theirs alone.

    The group is designed to be:

    • small enough for real conversation;

    • structured enough to stay focused;

    • respectful enough for honesty;

    • practical enough to matter after the session ends.

    The DadLife: The Work cohort approach provides a structured space for fathers to think clearly, speak honestly, listen well, and keep doing the work.

  • DadLife: The Work includes:

    • six weekly online sessions;

    • 90 minutes per session;

    • small cohort format of 8-10 other dads;

    • guided conversation and reflection;

    • practical between-session application;

    • the DadLife: Fire Profile and a private 45 minute 1:1 debrief; and a

    • confidential and respectful group environment;

    Sessions are scheduled when participating dads are available as much as possible.

    Evening or other practical times may be offered depending on the cohort.

    Cost

    $700 CAD

    This includes all six 90-minute online cohort sessions and session materials, the DadLife: Fire Profile, and one private 1:1 debrief.

  • Every participant in The Work receives the DadLife: Fire Profile as part of the package.

    • The Fire Profile is a 35-item survey tool that helps fathers better understand how different parts of fatherhood connect, including:

      • identity;

      • stress;

      • communication;

      • relationships;

      • values;

      • emotional patterns;

      • pressure;

      • family life;

      • how you show up when things matter.

    • After completing the profile, each participant receives a private 1:1 debrief.

    • The debrief helps translate the profile into practical insight. The point is not to label you, diagnose you, or put you into a personality box. The point is to help you see patterns more clearly and identify what growth could look like in real life.

  • The Work is designed to connect directly to real life.

    Between sessions, fathers may be invited to notice patterns, reflect on specific questions, try practical relational skills, or pay attention to how stress, communication, conflict, and connection show up during the week.

    The DadLife: Fire Profile also gives fathers a personal reference point for noticing what is happening in ordinary moments.

    The goal is not homework for the sake of homework.

    The goal is to make the work visible in real life:

    • after a hard day,

    • during a difficult conversation,

    • when parenting gets tense,

    • when partnership needs attention,

    • and when you get another chance to show up differently.

  • After completing DadLife: The Work, fathers may choose to continue through:

    • DadLife: One to One;

    • additional DadLife: Fire Profile interpretation or follow-up;

    • future cohorts or workshops;

    • additional DadLife development opportunities.

    Some fathers use The Work as a focused six-week reset.

    Others use it as the beginning of a longer process of intentional fatherhood development.

    Either way, The Work is designed to give fathers something practical to carry forward.
